Life as a mom who has her hands full

Thanking our Soldiers

My sister was in the airport last Friday night, waiting for her flight, when she got the chance to witness a remarkable sight. Two men dressed in full military gear entered the small cafe. While they were waiting at the bar for a table, a woman walked into the restaurant to ask the lady for some change. When she saw the military boys dressed and waiting to go to Iraq, she ran over to them. My sister watched as the woman thanked the men for all of their hard work and dedication to our country. She said that she was proud of the job they were doing and just wanted them to know how grateful our nation was to them. Then she told them that she wanted to buy them dinner as a way of saying thank you. She gave the waitress more than enough money to buy them each a nice dinner and then said she had to catch her flight. The two men stood there speechless, my sister was almost in tears.

There are beautiful people in the world all around you, and there are miracles and good deeds happening every minute…..they just never make the front page of the newspaper. To all of the many good samaritans out there, keep up the good work. Your deeds live on in the lives and memories of the people you touch.
